A Journey from Home to Heart
Namaste! I’m Barsha Mandal, and this is my story of love, flavors, and connection.
I am from the vibrant city of joy, Kolkata. I was raised amidst the rich cultural tapestry of Bhubaneswar, India. I grew up surrounded by the aromatic spices. These were the authentic flavors of home-cooked Indian meals. When life brought me to the beautiful prairies of Saskatoon, Canada, I carried with me not just memories. I also brought the essence of my homeland – the recipes, the traditions, and the warmth of Indian hospitality.
I ventured far from home. Like many in my situation, I found myself longing for those familiar tastes. I missed the perfect blend of spices in a curry and the comforting aroma of freshly ground masala. These are the soul-satisfying flavors that connect us to our roots. That longing became my inspiration. I began recreating the authentic spices. I crafted traditional Indian dishes in my own kitchen. I poured love into every blend and every recipe.
What started as cooking for my family soon became something beautiful. When I shared my creations with friends and neighbors, their eyes lit up with joy. The compliments weren’t just about taste. They were about memories rekindled. Cultures were shared. Connections were made over a shared meal. Their encouragement and genuine love for my food sparked something in me.
This year, I took a leap of faith and started sharing my passion with our wonderful community. The response has been overwhelming and humbling. Every smile, every “this tastes just like home,” every message of appreciation has filled my heart with gratitude and purpose.
Today, I’m thrilled to bring this journey online, extending our kitchen to yours across Canada. Each spice blend is crafted with the same care I’d use for my own family. Each dish carries the authentic flavors of India, made with traditional methods and premium ingredients. When you taste our products, you’re not just experiencing food. You’re experiencing a piece of my heritage. It’s my journey and my love for bringing people together.
